Thanksgiving break week is coming to an end. We had a fun filled week and really enjoyed every minute. I went AWOL on social media in an attempt to really cherish every moment with both girls at home. We cooked up a few recipes I wanted to share. If you still have leftover Turkey, definitely try out our leftover Enchiladas this week.
One week into the time change and I miss the longer days but rather than sit here and complain I am embracing the change in season (and light) by enjoying comforting, warm, fall foods. Soup is always my go to choice this time of year. This pumpkin soup is especially tasty. This blog post also shares some ideas for encouraging your kiddos to express gratitude daily and especially this time of year. I am also sharing an opportunity for you and your kiddos to help others.
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. Whether you are hosting the main feast, bringing a side dish, or attending a Friendsgiving this is a great recipe to try out. My hubby does not like, actually hates green beans. It has been a long goal of mine to make green bean dishes that he will eat. When the girls and I served this dish to him, he ate the entire dish thus I do not have any pictures of the finished product. If the girls can make it, so can you, and your kids. Watch the video, try out the tips, and let us know what you think.
Sometimes a 6 hour drive to the middle of the desert is the best remedy for a week filled with chaos. Last week the hubby and I both couldn't seem to catch a breath so a weekend away, alone together, was just what the doctor ordered. If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, this just might be your perfect California Oasis. I'm also sharing what I wore, and a tasty recipe to recreate a mediterranean retreat in your own home.
This gloomy weather makes me want to be a couch potato and I am dreading turning back the clocks. Thank goodness I live somewhere that is sunny and hot most of the year otherwise I would probably be a miserable mess. Rather than actually being a couch potato, I’m meal prepping twice baked potatoes to stock my freezer. So on a crazy night filled with activities and Holiday to do’s I can quickly pull the potatoes out, pop in the oven for 20 minutes and have dinner ready to go. My ABC30 segment is also linked if you prefer to watch the video but are never up at 6:10am to catch in on air. My outfit details are also listed. Have a great weekend friends!
I love Mondays because it is a fresh start. It is the day to kick off the week with the best foot forward and set the pace for the days that follow. Mondays tend to be my day off to just be a mommy. So today I am sharing a few simple activities (that I learned from the Europeans) that I am doing to slow down and show up.
We are nuts for Pistachios at our house. They make a great salty, crunchy snack but they are also great to cook with. We are excited for the Old Town Clovis Farmer's Market Pistachio Party this week. So today the girls are sharing how to make a delicious Pistachio Pesto Pasta that looks fancy but is rather simple to throw together. As a bonus I am also sharing the recipe for a Pistachio Power Bar. Let us know if this is a recipe you might try.
It's Thursday... that means 1 more day until the weekend. Back in college, Thursday was our Friday night but now Thursday is still Thursday and for me, it is the toughest night of the week because my husband is at work pretty late. I threw together a quick blog post with one of my favorite slow cooker recipes so you can recreate it at home. What is your favorite slow cooker dish?
It has been a long time since have done a few things... I took a break from blogging, in an attempt to focus on other areas of my life. It has also been a long time since I have had a getaway weekend with just my hubby. We decided to escape to San Francisco for some adult only time. If you are looking for a few recommendations on where to eat or visit, this might be for you.
Today I am sharing a pizza recipe using slightly abnormal ingredients. For the crust we are going to use pita making it a mess free & quick way to serve up a tasty pizza dinner. Check out the other ingredients and make this for dinner when you are looking for something quick.
